My work is a window into my imagination, a peek at the happy-go-lucky side of my personality, and a reflection of my quirky sense of humor. My whimsical, quasi-surrealistic— almost cartoonish—
images of bright, bold, marine life offer a tangible expression of my love of the ocean and her residents.
My work is representational, but not overly realistic. It is a study in perception, color, light, form and
texture; a study in the wonder and magic of the sea's creatures rather than an attempt to capture a literal likeness of them. My fish aren't the ones seen in any actual sea; mine are the fish seen in dreams of the sea.
Children, including my own son, seem to adore my work. This is an endless source of joy for me, and I would hope that my work appeals to the child that resides in all us.
