A while back, a business acquaintance called me up asking for some work for his latest endeavor, a bar/pool hall/live music venue called The Inner Circle, in Fort Lauderdale. Specifically, what he wanted was a cartoon animal mascot that the bar could use on it's signage, shirts, glasses, business cards, etc.; something fun with a cool South Florida vibe. After much trial and error, Davy the Iguana was born. A short while later, it was decided that The Inner Circle needed a secondary mascot to promote Ladies Night, and Davy needed a galpal, so I drew up Missy Guana. At one point there was talk of doing a mural behind the bandstand with an entire iguana band, but it never panned out in time for me to complete before moving.
